Make Nap Time a Comfortable Experience

What is it about nap time that makes an adult cringe at the thought? Perhaps it is the struggle that ensues with the child who will inevitably need to make two or three bathroom trips, a couple drinks of water, maybe some patting on the back until they fall asleep, as well as the lights just so. If your preschool or daycare children are putting up a fight like this, it is a sure sign that napping is just plain uncomfortable. Little toddlers in your preschool or daycare will be much more apt to take naps at the prescribed time if nap time is made comfortable for them. A blanket on a hard floor is not very comfortable as any adult who has slept on the floor will know. Even a sleeping bag is not enough padding to encourage a sleepy little tot to drift off to dreamland. There is a very simple remedy to this problem, and that is to provide each child with a rest mat for the floor to lay their sleeping bag on. Though a mat might look thin, its extra bit of cushiness provides a nice respite from the stiff floor, and makes it so much more comfortable for your little charge. The time you will save in getting them to sleep will be worth the extra money you put out for the mats, and their happy, rested smiles you’ll receive when they wake up will definitely be worth it.
